Pale, rugged rocks; vibrant, blossoming meadows; thick fairytale forests; and mountains filled with flora and fauna that have made their home in this landscape. Obereggen is surrounded by nature and offers countless opportunities to experience the mountains in every season.
How can we make your experience in the hiking and skiing region of Obereggen even more enjoyable?
We have been investing in infrastructure and technologies for many years: the ski lifts are powered by electricity, a wood-chip-fuelled district heating system supplies the village community with heat, and heat recovery systems and geothermal heating are used in selected facilities. An environmental management system certified to ISO 14001 standards has been in operation since 2004. At our Alpine hut Oberholz, we serve filtered and purified water from local mountain springs using BWT technology instead of water in conventional bottles.
A mindful approach to nature is something we can all contribute to, including our visitors. That’s why we encourage you to use public transport, which provides convenient connections throughout South Tyrol. Hiking and skiing buses also provide regular services – free of charge for holders of the Eggental Mobil Card – connecting the villages of the Eggental valley with the lower lift stations and providing convenient access to hiking, biking and winter experiences.
Why not leave your car behind and enjoy the convenience of travelling by public transport? Discover the mountains around Obereggen, the Eggental valley and South Tyrol and enjoy your time in the great outdoors.
