The call of the winter valley
Of tales of adventure…
Is it really December already? Almost! It is hard to believe that Jack Frost is on his way, snowy white blankets in hand, with the first snowflakes already covering the mountains! And, if you listen carefully, you can hear him calling from the Val d’Ega - the old man of the snows and his white-capped mountains await their loyal fans – and plenty of new faces – all set for adventures on the slopes! And, let’s be honest: haven’t you too been longing for his call? ;)
So let’s get the most important thing out of the way: the ski areas are getting ready, as it all kicks off in Obereggen at 7 pm on 30 November with night skiing: there are 49 perfectly groomed slopes ready for eager skiers and the Obereggen Snowpark - one of the largest of its kind in Italy – is also reopening. At Carezza Dolomites, South Tyrol’s no. 1 family skiing resort, the season starts on 1 December. So get your skis and snowboards ready and waxed, and get your toboggans, your snowshoes and your cross-country skis up from the cellar - it really isn’t long now before you can start enjoying new winter tales of adventure in Obereggen and Carezza.
…and Christmas stories!
And if you are already here - no, you are not dreaming! –stay a little longer, because at the weekends from 1 to 23 December there is a little Christmas fairy tale for you to enjoy here, with the Christmas magic at the Lago di Carezza! In the Advent season this magical location is transformed into something fabulous, with traditions and customs accompanied with Christmas scents, songs and sounds, flickering candles and a magnificent backdrop: the magic of Christmas at the Lago di Carezza is certainly the most enchanting Christmas market in all of South Tyrol!
