A sunny spot in the Dolomites
The largest village in Obereggen skiing and hiking area is Nova Ponente. With an area of 112 km², this village is one of the largest municipalities in South Tyrol, too – even clocking up the most hours of sunshine in 2016! Surrounded by the Catinaccio and Latemar massifs and the Corno Bianco and Corno Nero mountains, this mountain village lies on a high plateau in Val d’Ega amidst extensive woodland and meadows.

Nova Ponente is a hiking paradise in summer, with lots of tours starting here, ranging from easy to challenging. Walks to mountain pastures or to mountain peaks, three guided themed walks a week, mountain bike tours, racing bike routes, Nordic Walking Days: visitors to Nova Ponente can really get the best out of their summer in the mountains here.

And what about winter? This is when Nova Ponente is tranformed into a sun-drenched winter sports village: the excellent 48 kilometres of piste at Ski Centre Latemar are just seven kilometres away! They are best reached by ski buses leaving every hour – it’s environmentally friendly, too! There are 60 kilometres of trails for cross-country skiers! Three toboggan runs - and, of course, plenty of winter walking paths. There’s a practice piste for mini ski excursions or little 'school trips'! If you fancy feeling the pulse of the town, the province capital of Bolzano is just 30 minutes’ drive away!
