LATemar

Up - and around - the Latemar massif

Experience the Val d’Ega

A world of adventure in a UNESCO World Heritage Site

Birds fly high in the sky, almost up in the clouds. Ski lifts whisk visitors to the top stations. Shimmering mountain meadows, ancient hillside forests, paths that wind up the slopes of the Dolomites: summer adventures in the Dolomites can be enjoyed over and over again - and not just in the huts! Here are some of the highlights…

Up - and around - the Latemar massif

The Latemar summit tour is a gem among hiking tours and at the same time a classic of the Val d’Ega. You climb the Gamsstall ridge in about three hours up to the Latemar Hut at an altitude of 2,671 metres. Mountain bikers too can circumnavigate the Latemar massif in around five hours: the 37.9 kilometre Latemar circuit begins with a gentle climb through the Latemar forest up to the Costalunga Pass, then drops into the Val di Fassa. From there take the Predazzo Gardonè cable car up to 1,650 metres, then ride with the next lift up to the Feudo Pass at 2,200 metres.

The Bletterbach Geoparc and the Planetarium

Down into the Bletterbach Gorge! The Bletterbach Geoparc, South Tyrol's highest canyon, is an attraction for both large and small. This is where the Earth's history comes to life! Learn more about the cosmos in the Planetarium in the “Star Village” of Gummer, at the “Max Valier” observatory or on the Planet Trail. Discovery and adventure for all the family!

Toboggan runs, ball games and lots of fun!

Thrills and spills in both summer and winter! Whizz through the old forests at up to 40 km/h on the rails of the Alpine Coaster at Gardonè in Predazzo. There is also plenty of fun to be had on the tennis courts and golf courses in the Val d'Ega!

NATURE – writ large!

The people of the UNESCO world community know it - and the people of Obereggen know it too. Our Earth is a gift to be protected. Obereggen has since 2007 been heated by means of a biomass-fuelled district heating system, while electricity is generated from green hydropower. Public transport is also a priority, with shared taxis and top-quality lifts!
