Walking in and around Obereggen
Out and about – let’s get walking!
Above is the sun, all around are the pale Dolomites, while down below colourful butterflies flit among the flowering meadows. And, in the midst of it all, walkers and mountain climbers, nature lovers and fresh air enthusiasts enjoy themselves.
There are no fewer than 530 kilometres of hiking trails in and around the Val d’Ega located in the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Dolomites. Long routes, short routes, flat paths, steep climbs: from strolls to mountaineering challenges, anything is possible!
Around the Latemar massif
The Latemar is a hiking gem and, to its west, Obereggen sparkles in the summer sun. There are 15 tours starting directly from the village, with the Latemarium offering something for the inquisitive, the active and the adventurous!
Walks to mountain huts
The high mountains are home to ancient farmsteads and lush green mountain meadows. For those preferring to take a stroll and have a bite to eat along the way, there are numerous mountain huts offering South Tyrolean delicacies, such as the Oberholz hut.
Take it to the top!
There are five cable cars as well as public buses and hiking shuttles available to transport walkers up or back down.
